Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) workshops provide students with disabilities the tools and support they need to prepare for life after high school. Our instructors travel to various high schools across the region, bringing these interactive workshops directly into students’ classrooms. We collaborate closely with teachers to tailor workshops that best meet the needs of their students, ensuring meaningful and relevant learning experiences.

Workshops focus on key areas such as career exploration, workplace readiness, self-advocacy, post-secondary education planning, and job preparation. Additionally, we offer customized Pre-ETS workshops for transition and life skills students, ensuring every student, regardless of their abilities, receives the guidance and support needed to build independence and confidence for their future.

LINK Transition Center Workshops provide students with the same engaging skill-building experiences as our in-district workshops, but in a college campus setting at Yakima Valley College (YVC). These workshops allow students to practice essential transition skills while experiencing a new environment outside their high school.

Each session focuses on key areas such as workplace readiness, career exploration, and self-advocacy. Being on the YVC campus also gives students the chance to experience college life, helping them envision future opportunities while gaining valuable hands-on learning.

Our Interactive Advisory Workshops provide students with a dynamic, hands-on learning experience designed to build essential life and job skills. These 2.5-hour sessions take place at Yakima Valley College (YVC), giving students the opportunity to step outside their school environment and experience college life firsthand. This exposure helps students envision their future while engaging in practical skill-building activities.

Workshop activities include practicing cashier skills with a register, placing food orders and handling payments, stocking shelves in simulated stores, and performing clerical tasks like data entry. Beyond skill development, these workshops offer a valuable opportunity for students to meet peers from other high schools, practice social skills, and build new friendships—all in a supportive and engaging setting. These sessions empower students with confidence, independence, and the readiness to transition successfully into their next steps after high school.

Work-Based Training provides students with disabilities the opportunity to gain real-world job experience in a supportive setting. Through partnerships with local businesses and organizations, students participate in hands-on training that helps them develop workplace skills, build confidence, and explore career interests. These experiences are designed to prepare students for competitive employment by teaching essential job tasks, workplace expectations, and professional communication.

By engaging in Work-Based Training, students not only gain valuable skills but also connect with potential employers and expand their career opportunities. This program is a key step in helping students transition successfully from school to the workforce.

Our post-secondary advising workshops help students with disabilities explore their options for life after high school. We provide guidance on college and vocational training programs, teach essential college terminology, and offer overviews of financial aid and scholarship opportunities.

Students will also have the chance to explore different career pathways, connect with college admissions officers, and participate in guided college tours. Our goal is to ensure students feel informed and confident as they navigate their transition to higher education or career training.
